christina aguilera racy:Burlesque Movie Reviews (Videos, Photos)

Did you venture out to see Cher, Christina Aguilera and Kristen Bell in Burlesque this Thanksgiving weekend? Apparently not! The musical didn’t fare too well at the box office. Read the Burlesque Movie Reviews here. Plus check out photos and videos of the Burlesque cast after the jump

Only pulling in modest numbers since it’s theater debut on November 24th, Burlesque Movie reviews aren’t looking too terrific after only raking in an estimated $17.2 million. What was the highlight of director and writer Steve Antin’s racy musical? In one word – Cher! Read the reviews below.

The fact that the star studded picture was duking it out with blockbusters like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Megamind also didn’t help numbers. So what went wrong?

According to PurpleRevolver.Com “Burlesque boasts between raucous musical numbers and incessant bling, a story which leaves room for doubt as to whether we’re supposed to be laughing along with it or at it.” The doubt was also thanks to singer Christina Aguilera who wasn’t able to persuade movie goers into believing her portrayal as Ali, a poor Iowa singer who just wants to make her dreams come true.

Sour Burlesque Movie Reviews also poured in from the notorious Rotten Tomatoes and the ever reliable Shockya.Com, who states a good point about the making of a movie fans can really enjoy.

Again Aguilera takes the hit. With too much emphasis put on the songstress’ character and her voice, its those variables that seem to backfire on Burlesque director Steve Antin, the movie lacks “proper camerawork to capture the action, adequate editing to make the visuals comprehensible or a well-developed story to engage viewers, you might as well have just made a CD, not a feature film.”
